With an abundance of new features rolling out on Facebook over the past couple of weeks it can be hard to keep up with it all. So, we thought we’d break down the main new features you may want to use to your advantage for your own business!
Messenger rooms
This new feature allows up to 50 people to video chat at a time. There’s no limit to how long you can talk, and you don’t even need a Facebook account to join a room. Facebook additionally plans to add ways to create Rooms from Instagram Direct and WhatsApp as well. Some of its main features include will include 14 camera filters and changeable backgrounds.
Facebook shops
With Facebook’s new shops feature, business page owners will enjoy:
- The ability to set up a single online store with seamless experiences across FB, Insta, stories, ads and eventually messenger and WhatsApp
- LIVE shopping allowing your customers to shop in real time whilst you’re live streaming
- Include both AI & AR (augmented reality) features and product previews
Support small business hashtag
This new feature was designed to promote and support small businesses by encouraging users to show their love for small businesses through the hashtag #SupportSmallBusiness. If you’re a small business yourself it may be worth calling on your community to use the hashtag to help promote your business.
“Audio-only” live mode
This feature is yet to launch but will offer users the ability to listen to audio only on Facebook Lives. Why do we need this feature? Well, it basically allows your audience to multi-task. They can scroll through their Facebook feed or open a new window whilst continuing to listen to your FB live, making it easier to retain your audience for the duration of it. Also let’s face it, sometimes we don’t feel like bearing it all and showing up on camera looking like we haven’t slept in 5 days.
How do you feel about these new updates? Will you be utilisng any of these new updates for your own business? Need a hand to get up and running, we’re just a quick DM away.
